Pipe Piercing

Pipe Piercing Process

The piercing process is relatively simple and involves a piercing tool sized to match the desired hole diameter and an air compressor. An entry and exit pit is excavated to 10 times the diameter of the piercing tool. For example, a 3″ (76 mm) tool would require two 30″ (762 mm) deep pits. Once the pits are dug, the crew strings air hoses from the compressor to power the piercing tools. The piercing tool is connected to the ...

Pipe Coating

The Process

The pipe is cleaned with a high speed cabling machine with a chain knocker attachment and centering brushes. Once the tuberculation and debris are removed, the remaining debris are flushed with water and dried. The pipe coating machine has two motor driven pumps that pump unmixed 2 part modified poly urea resin down reusable tubing to a static mixer/application brush that spins, mixing the resin, then spreading it on the wall of the pipe as the operator retrieves the assembly ...

Pipe Bursting

Pipe Bursting Process

Pipe bursting involves using a winch to pull a heavy duty polyethylene pipe through an old pipeline of equal or smaller size. The old pipeline is shattered using a high-powered tool with special bursting heads that smash through the old pipe while pulling through the new replacement pipe. When pulled into the old pipe, the bursting head breaks the pipe into pieces, enlarges the hole and pushes the fragments into the surrounding soil. This limits pipe bursting to ...

Pipe Relining

The Process:

  1. Existing host pipeline is cleaned out with Hydro Jetting or Pipe Descaling depending on pipe condition.
  2. Sewer Video Camera Inspection confirms if pipe can receive lining.
  3. One (1) small pothole, approximately 4ft. x 3ft., is excavated to expose pipe.
  4. One piece felt liner is treated with resin.
  5. Lining is inserted into old pipe, calibration tube is inflated and expands the lining.
  6. Lining is “Cured-in-Place” as resin cooks and hardens.
  7. Calibration tube is deflated and removed, sewer video camera inspects the results.
  8. Pipe Relining is a permanent, stand-alone, new pipeline.
