What is a Top Hat Liner?
The Top Hat system uses a polyester corrosion resistant fiberglass insert. This unique fiberglass insert fits Y and T saddle connections.
It is delivered impregnated and wrapped in a protect black foil. Driven in place to the saddle connection through a street accessible access point.
Top Hat Liner Process (In steps)
The first step is to verify if the city saddle can have a top hat liner installed. The technician will inspect the saddle connection.
The 2nd step is to prep the top hat liner and set it up on the robotic crawler for installation. The fiberglass insert will be wrapped around the air bladder and impregnated with the polyester resin.
The final step the robotic crawler with the impregnated fiberglass insert it put into place using a attached camera and is inverted into the city saddle connection. Using UV light the the polyester resin is cured in 7 minutes. Once cured the robotic crawler is removed and the saddle connection lined and ready for service.
